Our client is a distinctive and highly regarded specialist sustainability consulting group that focuses on developing “whole of company sustainability solutions” with a strong focus on “the business case for sustainability”. They are working with companies to help them successfully transition to a low carbon economy. This group has experienced positive growth that is driven by its team based approach and unique culture combined with delivering outstanding client outcomes. Clients include ASX 300, Government and large listed multinationals. The team also actively works with smaller Not for Profit, Arts and Community organisations who are seeking to demonstrate sustainability leadership in their field.

Reporting to the Practice Leader and working with a multi-skilled national team, the Senior/Principal Consultant will manage senior level advisory engagements with clients, be responsible for identifying and obtaining new client work, project managing client engagements, managing a team of staff and ensuring client satisfaction on each project.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Senior level advisory and consulting experience with ASX 400, Government or Fortune 500 clients gained from a role within a Big 4 global advisory firm, global strategy firm or environmental/engineering consulting firm. This is crucial.
  • 10 years + experience in either the energy, resources/mining or manufacturing/FMCG well regarded (preferred but will consider experience from other industries)
  • Ability to lead mid to senior level executives at ASX300 or Government agencies to achieve a corporate sustainability vision
  • Demonstrated experience in being able to identify and win new business and also account manage existing accounts
  • Experience in any of the following areas : Sustainability strategy and Reporting; Sustainable Supply Chains; Carbon Management; Risk Management; Business Systems Integration; Operational efficiency; Performance and Process Improvement with a particular focus on GhG, resource efficiency, business/operational systems, and processes inclusive of SAP/Oracle etc
  • Demonstrated experience in leading consulting teams and managing permanent staff, not just project teams
  • Appropriate Undergraduate qualifications (Engineering/Commerce/Accounting) and Post Graduate Qualifications well regarded (Masters/MBA or other in a related area)
  • Overseas experience well regarded but not mandatory
