Our client is a distinctive and highly regarded specialist sustainability consulting group that focuses on developing integrated solutions that are focused on business and performance improvement and competitive advantage that is critical to their client’s success. The group has experienced positive growth driven by its team based approach and unique culture combined with leading edge thought leadership and outstanding client outcomes. They are now seeking to appoint a number of Associate Consultants to support the growth of the Consulting practice nationally. Clients include ASX 300 and large listed multinationals and engagements are based on major projects aimed at aiding organisations to extract greater commercial value from existing business systems, enhancing revenue and reducing costs.
Reporting to the Australian Practice Leader and working with a multi-skilled national team, the Associate Consultant will play a key role in the successful execution of a range of sustainability business consulting engagements across a broad client base. These engagements will predominantly involve: operational efficiency and greenhouse gas assessments and sustainability reporting.
Key deliverables will include:
- Assist lead Consultants in the area of carbon market strategy development, sustainability performance indicators, data collection/consolidation/analysis, carbon baseline assessment, energy efficiency, greenhouse emission abatement and off-sets, sustainability reporting and report writing
- Assist in the development of integrated Environmental Management Systems (EMS) systems and related sustainability/CSR projects
- Assist with the development of proposals and presentations/visual aids for project communication including research
- Provide research and thought leadership on a multiple range of internal and external projects as required
The Ideal Candidate
- Sustainability consulting experience gained in an environmental consulting, Big 4, boutique management consulting/ business consulting firm with an environmental or sustainability focus. A minimum of: 2 – 5 years experience in sustainability related consulting
- Passion and interest in the area of sustainability and the environment, able to clearly articulate why you are interested in this area and how you have demonstrated your interest and passion in sustainability
- Demonstrated experience in data collection, sustainability performance indicator development, report development, sustainability or environmental management systems and risk assessment and conducting carbon baseline assessments
- Business Process Design/Re-engineering and Supply Chain management/optimisation
- Experience working on operational efficiency programmes (energy efficient resources) and developing detailed reports on recommendations for risk mitigation and performance improvement
- Experience with the implementation of integrated Environmental Management Systems
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering (preferably systems, mechanical or environmental), Commerce, Accounting, Sustainability or a double degree in Business and Environment or Business and Science would be well regarded.
- Strong Project Management and advanced Excel spreadsheeting skills (ideally modelling)
- Capacity to conduct qualitative and quantitative research and effectively assess and interpret complex data
Location: These roles will be based in both Melbourne and Adelaide and may require occasional national travel.
